Summer Food & Wine Event at SCP
05.15.13
Food and wine lovers can join the fight against hunger in Orange County by attending the Summer Food & Wine Event, a South Coast Plaza tradition for more than 25 years, on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s.
At the celebration more than 30 premium wineries will be pouring 100 of their best vintages, along with tray passed appetizers from Charlie Palmer’s such as truffle cheese sliders, herb French fries, hamachi sashimi with blood orange-fennel marmalade, three cheese risotto croquette, saffron aioli; taco yaki–ginger, potato foam; and smoked and seared scallop with pineapple and rhubarb yogurt.
Celebrity Chef Charlie Palmer will mingle with guests, and Jason Bentley of KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic will provide music. All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
Downstairs in the wine cellar, they will pour extraordinary Champagnes. Many of the wines will be for sale by the case at 10 % discount.
Tickets cost $100 per person. To purchase tickets visit www.feedoc.org or call 949.653.2900 x 131.
Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s South Coast Plaza is at 3333 Bristol St.in Costa Mesa.

Kore Swim, Summer Must Have!
05.15.13
We're obsessed with KORE SWIM and it seems we're not the only fans. In this month alone, KORE was featured in 5 major fashion magazines including Marie Claire, InStyle, Lucky , Glamour and Self. So what makes this local swimwear line so special? Too may reasons to count, we just suggest you try on one of their pieces to fully understand what all the fuss is about.
Designed and marketed by dynamic duo sisters, Jessica and Nicole Tracy, for strong independent women who lead healthy, inspiring lives. KORE SWIM blends fashion and sport so that you can look just as good surfing as you do lounging poolside, but what we love the most is that their suits are timeless and built to last in a woman's closet for many seasons.
This season KORE released a bigger assortment of cover-ups then last year, and the sexy-sporty, color-blocked suits seem to be a big hit with buyers, which are sold locally at Bardot in Newport Beach and H. in Laguna Beach, or online at super retailers like Modcloth.com and FreePeople.com. They really do have styles for everyone, but their one pieces are getting the most attention - and their "customers love them" - "they're flattering, chic and comfortable all at the same time".
So, we're all anticipating Summer just around the corner and it's time to stock up on a new suit or three and we highly suggest KORE SWIM, you won't be disappointed.
